Replacing a Samsung Main Board? Make Sure to Do these Steps!

In many Samsung LED TV models (full list of applicable models below), you may encounter an abnormal video/colors or no video at all after replacing the main board. If that's the case, complete these four, easy steps and your picture should be back to normal!

Examples of Abnormal Video and Colors

Colors are off or inverse of normal
Colors are off or inverse of normal
Vertical lines or bars
Wrong screen size (black bars on top/bottom/sides) and/or dim image

Steps to Fix this Problem

Step 1: Make sure you have a Samsung remote with number keys.

Step 2: With your TV on, aim the remote at your TV and press INFO, MENU, 3, 1, 4, EXIT. On some Samsung remotes, the SETTINGS key will replace the MENU key in that sequence.

This process enables your TV's cell auto detect. It will send the panel info to the new main board when it powers on your TV.

Step 3: Unplug your TV for 10 seconds and then plug it back in and turn it on. The TV image and colors should be back to normal!

Step 4: Now that your TV's picture looks good, you'll need to turn off the cell auto detect function. With your TV on, aim the remote at your TV and press INFO, MENU, 4, 3, 1, EXIT. On some Samsung remotes, the SETTINGS key will replace the MENU key in that sequence.
